Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 8
Review: Spent too much time on Gwen, not enough on Miguel or Miles. Left alot on the table like Miguel not using his elbow swords or his fangs. In addition how did miles out run 1000 spider people. Overall it was good, music was A 1.

Review: A movie that made you actually care about a human and AI's relationship. The later half of the movie felt rushed as the twist had little foreshadowing. However, the overall pacing and story writing was great.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 6
Review: A genuinely fun movie to watch. Like all the transformer movies, the human plots were stale, evil corporate man and some nerd protagonist. However, all the ape scenes were pretty cool.

Review: Another good movie, couple things that threw me off about the movie was how shelby's character racing at the start and his heart disease never comes up again. Ken's wife and kid were honestly annoying as characters and wasted alot of screen time. But overall, the story was impactful, sometimes humility drags you back down.

Inception
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 7.5
Review: A solid movie, at the end there were so things that just didnt make sense. Like why did they make the dad's speech so emotional when it was just a dream. The open ended ending was alright, but honestly left a bitter taste since the movie would've been just fine without it.

Total Recall
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 7.5
Review: This movie is a house, it has Arnold, Sci Fi, OOO(if you seen the movie you would know), betrayals, over the top drama, and more. The ending where you have to guess if it is a simulation or not is also a great thought, a very good classic movie.

Review: The best shrek movie, and one of the best movies. This movie really hammers down the message of the first movie. Feels a little redundant but I think this movie did it better. Also, I'm very bias since this was my favorite movie growing up.

Spider-Man: No Way Home
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 8.5
Review: This was a solid movie. A few complaints before I get into the positives, Dr. Strange just sucks in the movie, as a character he is just stale, his powers are really undefined so the writers can pull anything plot convenient out of his ass. For example, he got a box that can destroy his broken spell from the middle of nowhere, but his character isn't particular to this movie, its just an MCU problem. Also, out of the villians only the green goblin wasn't a push over. Like did sand man or Dr. Oct really feel threatening at all? And MJ's over compensating "quirkiness" was annoying, like when she was smart mouthing the interrogators. Finally, the worst thing about the movie was Aunt May, what a stupid moral she pulled in the movie. So she decided to try and save 5 lives who are not good people, but ended up killing herself and many others. In the scene after GG (green goblin) killed her, he bombed 2 police cars and considering there were no officers outside thats 3 lives down. I can only imagine how many the other 4 (maybe not Oct) killed. She probably killed almost 100 people with that self righteous stunt of hers, its not really moral if saving 5 lives lead to 100 dying is it? But enough of the complaints, this movie was actually really hype. Story wise, it was about average but everything else was a home run, I didn't get spoiled so when I saw Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield I almost screamed out loud. The fight with Strange was very cool, and GG was just a great character. It was a fan service movie, but the way everything came together was just great. The movie really felt like 1hr long, which just shows how enticing it was. Overall, I would recommend and rewatch.

Death Note
Type: ANIME
Rating: 9
Review: One of the very first anime Ive seen. I remember watching it in middle school, but after multiple rewatches through out the years, this anime is a classic. Even non-anime watchers will know of death note or even watched it. As far as the anime itself, story telling was great, good characters, and great music. I can see a little bit of myself in both L and Light so their struggles and their definition of justice really influenced how I thought. In this aspect it is also very similar to a clockwork orange but what makes this anime stand out is its plot from start to finish.

Review: I really like the Tony Maguire Spider-man but something about Tom Holland makes him a more believable character, maybe I've seen some of the spider-man cartoons and animated series which makes me see spider-man as more of a teenager.

The Hunt
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 8
Review: A serious hidden gem, it also has a good ending (somewhat) so it leaves a good taste in your mouth after you finish. The movie doesn't take itself too serious of ask greater than life questions. However, it has a solid story, great characters, and overall a solid watch.

Hara-Kiri
Type: MOVIE
Rating: 8
Review: A solid 8/10, the movie based on a samurai tradition of ending your own life with honor, comes with a twist. The movie had very subtle humor, which worked in its favor, since it was able to change tones between scenes quite easily. Also, even in the many quirky scenes the tension never went away. This movie is one big congruent narrative so it is hard to say more without spoiling it. However, I will add that it is in Japanese and black/white, so it will not be for everyone.

The Millionaire Fastlane
Type: BOOK
Rating: 8.5
Review: When I read this book, I had already read his "Unscripted" book. They're essentially the same book, but in this book his DeMarco's thoughts are more fleshed out and coherent. I would say if you plan to become above average wealthy, this book is a great start. You will learn about the lies of compound interest and stock market, and the lies of retirement.

Review: If I throw a spear at the end of the universe, only 2 things can occur. It rebounds or it goes through, either way there is substance at the end of the universe. Therefore, the universe is infinite, this is Lucretius' Spear. A chapter in this book covers this, all chapters have similar thought provoking ideas explored.

Frankenstein, Or, The Modern Prometheus
Type: BOOK
Rating: 9.5
Review: Not a big fan of fiction books, but I read this book back in highschool and to this day it stands out apart from all the other books i've read. Mary Shelly wrote "modern Prometheus", I would add "modern Adam" of course Eve aswell. That being said, theres no denying how Dr. Frankenstein treated his creation compared to how God treated Adam and Eve. Many religious, mythos, and ideas from other books like Milton's Paradise Lost explored in this title. I recommend highly, as long as you can get past the old timey english.

The Art of Thinking Clearly
Type: BOOK
Rating: 8.5
Review: Your subconscious biases, logical fallacies, and other mental flaws are explored in this book. This is one of my favorite books, the only thing holding it back is that the author took a couple risks. The risks being that he made assumptions about his reader in certain chapters, I’m assuming for great reason since those assumptions would apply to the general public. But, depending on who you are those chapters just felt weird if he incorrectly diagnosed you.

Review: I really want to rate this show highly, I have no problem for long medias. However, I think the end of a story is like 30-50% of the whole plot. The end of this story is just horrible. That being said,I have not read the books, this is strictly a critque of the TV series.

Review: Also known as "Parasite", this movie shows the relationship between 2 family in opposite social classes. One family, pretty wealthy and the other, impoverish. In the movie you will see how the poor family is like a parasite to the rich, but at the same time the rich family could also be considered parasites since they rely on their host (the poor family). Although, that is a very over simplification, this movie is great.

Review: Theres something really appealing about grandiose out of control protagonist. Our MC Belfort, based off a true story was an interesting character to say the least. Although, i'd say not similar to Belfort, I admire people like him. Belfort is a smart and a very proactive man, but he lacked a conscious and that made him even more interesting.

Fight Club
Type: MOVIE

Review: Very solid movie overall, a lot of the stuff in this movie still applies to modern society, like the rise of useless jobs. With a very primitive take on society and the rise of consumerism explored in this movie, this is a must watch. Only thing holding this movie back is the ending, the twist is subpar and the last scene didn't make much sense logically speaking. However, the overall story is still top notch.
